Currently living in Coventry, I grew up in Devon and lived there for 23 years. I started drawing and painting from an early age and always intended to carry it on throughout my life although not really thinking that it would become a career. After completing a foundation course I decided to take some time away from studying. I spent the four years between my studies to work and travel before finally deciding to start a fine art degree. I gained much inspiration from my time working and travelling in South and Central America and hope to go back to some of the countries I visited again soon to see where it takes my practise. Throughout my three years studying for my degree I have concerned my practise on family and friends. In the begining my paintings were a very literal representation of this theme and it has now progressed to mainly large charcoal drawings that represent intimacey, familiarity; all the feelings that denote 'home' to me. I intend for my work to be soothing, reasuring, delicate.
